PE22 Wax Hardener
£0.99
PE22 is a polymer hardener commonly used when creating the outer shells of hurricane candles. It can also be added to candle wax to increase burn time or to harden wax to meet a “bite test.”
Key Characteristics
- Format: Granules
- Melting Point: PE22 has a very high melt point and must be heated to approximately 95°C to liquefy.
- Pouring Temperature: Dependent on the wax you are using with PE22.
How to Use PE22
As a Hardener:
- Mix at 4–6%.
- For best results, melt the PE22 separately due to its high melt point.
To Increase Burn Time:
- Use at a ratio of 1g PE22 per 150g wax.
- Add a small amount of your candle wax to the melted PE22 to increase volume and make blending easier.
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Always re-test your candle wick when introducing any additive to your wax.
