Chandler Grey® Blended Wax

The Chandler Grey Blended Wax is a paraffin wax that contains several key additives, including stearin, making it ideal for creating votive candles, pillar candles, wax melts, and tealights. This ready-to-use blend offers excellent scent throw, a smooth finish, and fantastic burning properties.

Chandler Grey Blended Wax is perfect for beginners or candle makers who want a "straight out of the box" wax. Simply melt, add dye and fragrance (if required), and pour!

Key Characteristics

• Format: Beads
• Max Fragrance Load: Up to 10%
• Melt Point: Approximately 55–57°C
• Pouring Temperature: Around 80°C
• Dye: Inpex Dye is most suitable (mix at 1g dye per 100g wax).

Wicking Recommendations

• Votive candles: V45/S5-80 and V45/SPC-60 wicks.
• Pillar candles: WickWell P2 or Wedo LX wicks.
• Tealight candles: Wedo TL wicks.

Tips & Troubleshooting

• Because this wax is designed to shrink as it cools (for easy mould release), pillar, votive, and tealight candles will usually require two or three pours.
• This wax is not recommended for rubber or silicone moulds, as the stearin content will reduce mould lifespan over time. For candles made in silicone or rubber moulds, use Chandler Grey 280P with added Bipol-VB.
• Add your fragrance oil just before pouring to minimise fragrance evaporation.
• Always "key" your candle between pours when making pillar or votive candles.
• Remember: container wax is designed to adhere to the container, while pillar wax is designed to contract for easy mould release.
