Bipol-X

Bipol-X is one of our most popular wax additives. While often mistaken for a product that boosts existing scent, Bipol-X instead allows you to safely add more fragrance to your wax without sweating. When used correctly, it enables triple-scenting, allowing up to 30% fragrance oil in your candle or wax melt.

Bipol-X works by modifying the crystal structure of wax to prevent fragrance oils from leaching. It absorbs and holds the oils within the wax, keeping the finished candle dry and eliminating sweating. Most waxes naturally hold up to 10% fragrance but beyond this, the oil begins to separate which is known as 'sweating'. Bipol-X prevents this separation.

• Format: Beads
• Melting Point: Must be heated to approximately 80°C to melt.
• Pouring Temperature: Dependent on the wax you are using with Bipol-X.

How to Use Bipol-X

• You do not need to account for the first 10% fragrance load when calculating usage.
• Due to its high melt point, melt Bipol-X separately for best results.
• For easier blending, add a small amount of your candle wax to the melted Bipol-X to increase volume.
• Use up to a maximum of 7g per 100g wax.
• Mix at 1g Bipol-X per 3ml of additional fragrance above the 10% load.

Tips & Troubleshooting

• Use Bipol-X only when increasing your fragrance load above 10%.
• Add fragrance oil just before pouring to minimise fragrance evaporation.
• Re-test your wick when using Bipol-X due to the higher fragrance percentage.
• Use high-quality candle fragrances, such as Escentscia fragrance oils, for the strongest scent throw.
