Woodwick (0.508 Range)
The Lumetique Original Woodwick 0.508 range is the smallest of the three Lumetique Original Woodwick ranges. This is the range we would recommend testing if you are using a paraffin candle wax such as the Chandler Grey PRO Container wax. You may find you need two wicks placed together in the same sustainer.
The thickness of this wick is 0.508mm, and within this size there are five widths available:
- 6.35mm
- 9.525mm
- 12.7mm
- 15.875mm
- 19.05mm
All the Wooden Wicks are 128mm long. These wicks are the Original wick but are being renamed the Crackling wick by the manufacturer.
Each size is sold in packs of 10 and 10 sustainers are also included. In the sample pack, you will find two of each wick in the range along with accompanying sustainers - perfect for testing!
Note: If you make candles for re-sale with this wood wick, it is required that you label your packaging acknowledging the patents of this wick with “www.lumetique.com/patents”.
FAQs
Q: What are these wooden wicks made from?
A: The Lumetique Original Woodwick is made from US native sappy fruit trees and are naturally processed and sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified mills.
Q: How sustainable are these wooden wicks?
A: Alongside being sourced from FSC certified mills, the manufacturer also donates a portion of its revenue to Trees for the Future — a charity organization that provides families with food, income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education, and even saves lives by planting and nurturing trees across the world. To date, the manufacturer has planted over 50,000 trees!
Q: Am I guaranteed the same level of crackle performance in every candle?
A: The level of crackle performance in your candle cannot be guaranteed. Factors such as wax type, fragrance choice, fragrance load, colour, and container size all affect the levels of crackle and burn performance achieved using these wicks. We recommend purchasing a sample pack for your testing to determine wick sizing and type.
Q: Is wick testing still required?
A: Yes. You must test all wicks, including wooden wicks, before making large batches of candles.
