Natural Palm Stearin

Natural Palm Stearin is one of our most popular wax additives. Primarily used as a hardener, stearin enhances the burning properties of candles while also improving colour depth and opacity. It can also assist with mould release when creating candles or wax melts using metal moulds.

This Natural Palm Stearin is not tested on animals and is sourced from a supplier who is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Do not use Natural Palm Stearin in rubber or silicone moulds, as it will reduce the lifespan of the mould.

Key Characteristics

• Format: Powder
• Melting Point: Must be heated to approximately 55°C to melt.
• Pouring Temperature: Dependent on the wax you are using Natural Palm Stearin with.

How to Use Natural Palm Stearin

• Mix at 2–10% of your total wax weight.
• May be used on its own to create a 100% natural palm candle; however, this is challenging and only recommended for experienced candle makers.

Tips & Troubleshooting

• The WickWell NT wick is most suitable for a 100% palm candle.
• Always re-test your wick when using Natural Palm Stearin, as it is primarily a hardener and will affect wick performance.
